    High Performance 13mm Cordless Drill & Driver
    The Panasonic EY74A2X57 14.4V/18V Dual Voltage Cordless Drill & Driver is lightweight and compact, yet powerful. With precision variable speed control/reversible, an 18-stage clutch, optimum rotation speed control plus high power brushless motor. The EY74A2X57 is ready for work with with a Panasonic 14.4V or 18V battery. Featuring a handy LED light for user-friendly operation in dark areas, a heavy-duty keyless chuck, and an electric brake for added safety.
    New Brushless Motor
    Without brushes and commutator which can reduce the lifetime of the tool, the motor lasts approximately twice compared with brushed motor.* Compared with Panasonic conventional brushed motor.
    New Ultra Hard Chuck Jaw Tips
    We increased durability of every part right down to the new metal chuck which features tungsten carbide jaw tips. These extra hardened inserts are brazed into each jaw to give extra 'bite strength' and substantially reduce wear.
    New Hybrid Switch
    To eliminate heavy friction to internal parts of the switch during use of electric brake, we developed a new semi-electronic switch. This gives smoother operation and double* the life expectancy of the part. * Compared with Panasonic conventional switches.
    Powerful to the Finish
    The new, large diameter brushless motors generate high power and efficiency (32Nm of torque - 18V battery). Plus the newly designed control circuit increases stable current flow to motor by more than 70%*. This enables high power output to be evenly maintained until the task is completed even during high-load operation. * Compared with previous brushless motor.
    Increased Efficiency and Flexibility
    The new 'Speed Control Function' allows the user to select from three different low rotation speed settings, based on allowable maximum speeds for metal hole saws. It greatly reduces 'run out' when using metal hole saws and prevents surface scorching on stainless steel and other materials.
    The advanced 'Smooth Start' electronics allow easy, precise speed control, enabling the ultimate control when starting drilling or working with small screws in precise applications.
    Tough Tools for Tough Conditions
    Many things can happen at a job site such as unexpected incidents, water contact, or exposure to dust; which can cause a tool to malfunction. By incorporating the Tough Tool IP technology, it reassures that Panasonic cordless tools perform at its best in the most difficult situations.

    The International Protection Code classifies the degree of protection provided against intrusion of solid foreign objects and liquids in electrical machinery and fixtures as defined by the IEC standards.

    Performance Protection
    Switch - An additional rubber cap seals the switch and protects it against dust and water. Electronics - The electronic circuits of control panel and battery pack are covered by an Urethan layer for maximum dust and water protection. Battery - The battery cells are designed to avoid intrusion of moisture.
    Dual Voltage for Better Versatility
    Dual voltage technology offers powerful performance with either a 14.4V or 18V battery. A special dual voltage circuit detects the voltage of the attached battery pack and controls the current and voltage flows to the tool to ensure optimum performance.
    18V 3.0Ah - With the 18V 3.0Ah battery, the application speed and working capacity goes up. 14.4V 4.2Ah - With the 14.4V 4.2Ah battery, it's easier to use with light weight and compactness. 18V 5.0Ah - With the 18V 5.0Ah battery, the application speed and working capacity goes up with increased power.
    Powerful and Longer Lasting
    Whether it's Panasonic's new generation 18V 5.0Ah battery cell, a slim and lightweight 18V 3.0Ah battery, or a compact standard 14.4V 4.2Ah battery - they all offer more durability during high workload conditions due to its reduction in internal resistance.
    Durable New Design
    Over-discharge prevention sensor - Prevents over-discharge to avoid lasting cell damage or recharge problems. Battery overheat protection sensor - Cuts off power to the motor before the battery temperature rises. Individual monitoring of battery cell voltage - Each cell monitored by sensor to ensure optimal discharge control. Battery sensor - Flashing lamps indicates overheating battery. Battery is automatically reactivated when temperature drops. Heat resistance layer technology - In cases where seperator is damaged and abnormal heat is created, HRL acts to contain this heat, just like a Fire wall. NNP technology - Panasonic's own developed Nickel oxide material provides higher capacity and higher reliability.
