    Description

    Only Porsche, committed to sports car racing, could make a racing version and production version of a sports car nearly indentical. The Porsche 911 GT2 was first developed in 1995 to complete in sports car races and GT2 class circuits. Porsche is known for both its factory and private race teams, and the 911 GT2 is no exception as the car was entered under both types of teams. As its name suggests, the car's design was based other Porsche 911, keepign the same monocoque frame as the production version, plus a reinforced roll-cage. The 911 GT2 features fat racing slick tires covered with resin, screw fastened over-fenders. The unique form of hte flaring front spoiler and raised rear wing hint at the power that lies within. The guts of this racing machine consist of 6-speed, rear-wheel drive transmission, powered by a rear installed 3600cc air-cooled V6 engine with 450hp of output. The Porsche 911 GT2's sheer power helped bring it to the tope in sports car and GT races all over the world. The road versionof the 911 GT2 featured the same front spoiler, rear over fenders, and enlarged rear wing as the race version, and also included light-weight aluminum door handles, an 2 bucket seats. The street legal version had its output reduced to 430hp, which was still deemed more than enough for public roads. Intended as a means of practical transportation on workdays and for weekend-warrior circuit racing on off-days, the Porsche 911 GT2 Road Version brought unprecedented delighted to sports car fans all over the globe.
