Description

"Blitz", the German word for "lightning" was the name for a number of trucks built by the Adam Opel AG company, before, during, and after the war. The version that entered production in 1937 would become one of the principal "workhorse" vehicles of the German Wehrmacht during World War II.
Equipped with a 75-horsepower overhead-valve straight-six engine, this three-ton truck served the German military in numerous ways and spawned multiple variants. Blitzes were used as troop transports, cargo haulers, ammunition carriers, artillery tow-trucks, ambulances, and pretty much any other use a modern military could ask for. Four-wheel drive variants were used in rough country, and even a half-track version called the Multier ("mule") was built.
